Snow Day Make-Up Plan

Black Hole Selling T-Shirts
The Black Hole will be selling t-shirts for the Titan-Monarch basketball games during lunch. The Titan-Monarch basketball game will be Saturday, February 20. The t-shirts will cost $10 and you can place your order at the Ticket Box office during lunch today, through Thursday, February 11. T-shirts must be paid for in advance and will be distributed the week of the Titan-Monarch basketball game. Join the Black Hole by purchasing your t-shirt and letting the Monarchs know that ‘we gonna run this town tonight!’

Flower Grams
Do you have a special teacher, friend, crush, or significant other? Let them know how much you care by sending a FLOWER GRAM! Key Club will be selling them during all three lunches through Wednesday, February 10. Flowers will be $1.50 each. You must know the full name and the 4 th hour teacher of the person you are sending the Flower Gram to.

Science Club
There will be a Science Club meeting on Wednesday, February 10, at 3:30 pm, in Mrs. Vanicek’s room. We will be doing the ‘gold’ penny experiment, so you will need to bring a penny from before 1982.

The Diviners
Tickets are on sale for the Papillion-La Vista South Titan Theater production of the award winning play, The Diviners, by Jim Leonard Jr. Show times are Friday, February 12, and Saturday, February 13, at 7:00 pm, as well as Sunday, February 14, at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults; $5 for students and senior citizens; $3 for children. For tickets, please call 829-4605. Tickets are also available in Titan Town and at the door. Hope to see you there!

Course Registration for the 2010-2011 School Year
Remember that the registration forms for next year are due this week:

  • Next year’s sophomores : bring your completed forms to your US History Class on Wednesday, February 10
  • Next year’s Juniors : bring your completed forms to your World Civilization class on Thursday, February 11
  • Next year’s Seniors : bring your completed forms to your Math class on Friday, February 12. If you do not have a math class, please bring your completed forms to the Guidance Office.

Students be sure to work with your parents and teachers in selecting the appropriate classes. Parent signatures are required.

VLC: Chocolate Sale
VLC classes are selling chocolate suckers for $1.00 at lunch this week!

Key Club Members
If you are available Wednesday, February 10, after school to tie flower grams, please stop by Ms. Peetz’s room to sign up. The more members that are available to help with this process, the better. Also, Key Club will be meeting this Thursday, February 11, at 7:30 am and 3:35 pm, in Ms. Peetz’s room.

Knitting Club T-Shirts
For those of you who ordered Knitting Club t-shirts – they are in! You must pay Mrs. Myers by this Thursday, February 11, so that she can go pick up the t-shirts on Friday, February 12. Please bring your money to Knitting Club today (in the library at 3:30 pm) or to room D11. Thank you!

Creative Writing Students
Creative Writing students from first semester – your much awaited portfolios have arrived! You may pick them up in Ms. Heilig’s room (E06).

Yearbook Orders
Want to know if you have already ordered a yearbook? Check the lists inside the Cafeteria or on the door of room B10. If you haven’t yet ordered a yearbook, you can still do so for $61 at www.yearbookforever.com or in room B10. Yearbook prices will increase March 1.

Ultimate Titan Challenge
The Ultimate Titan Challenge has been rescheduled for Friday, April 30, at 7:00 pm, in the Titan Theater – mark your calendars. Don’t miss this reality show based challenge set to find which seniors have the most attributes of an Ultimate Titan.

Media Aides
Applications are being accepted for media aides for the 2010-2011 school year. If you are in grades 10-12 and interested in earning a credit, please stop by the library to pick up an application.

Education Academy Senior Interns
Our monthly meeting will be today, during 6 th hour. Come with all materials!

Spring Sports – Blue Cards
Spring sports start on March 1. All athletes must present the coach with a Blue Card before trying out for a spring sport. The Athletic Office will start issuing Spring Blue Cards on Thursday, February 18. If students are not sure they have all the paperwork completed, please stop by the Athletic Office and check. Students must have a current physical and parental consent form on file and must have purchased an activity ticket.

Students – Make Plans To Attend Our College Planning Night
On Monday, February 15, the same night as Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences, we are having our annual College Planning Night. From 5:00-7:00 pm, representatives from local colleges and universities will have booths so you can gather information on admissions, programs, and financial aid. All three University of Nebraska schools, the Peter Kiewit Institute, Metro and Iowa Western Community Colleges, Clarkson, Methodist, Wayne, ITT, Capital School of Hairstyling, and Nebraska Wesleyan will all be in attendance. After meeting with schools, you and your parents are invited to our college planning presentation at 7:00 pm, in the Titan Theater. EducationQuest and guidance counselors will share information on the college selection and application process. For more information, see Ms. Mead in guidance.

Cheerleading Clinic
If you know of any younger children or siblings that would be interested in the Cheerleading Clinic, please forward this information on to them.

Cheer at the Papillion-La Vista South Basketball Game! The clinic is being presented by the Papillion-La Vista South Varsity Cheerleaders. The clinic will be held Wednesday, February 10, from 6:00-8:30 pm, at Papillion-La Vista South High School.

  • Ages 5 – 14 (grades K – 8)
  • Cheer at the Titan / Benson Varsity Basketball game on Saturday, February 13
  • $40 per participant, district employee $30
  • Includes a t-shirt and poms
