Dress Code

This is just a reminder to consider your dress before coming to school.  The dress code at Papillion-La Vista South will be enforced.  If you have any questions or concerns about your dress, please refer to page 30 in the Student Handbook.  If a staff member determines that your dress is inappropriate, you will be sent to the office and disciplinary action will be taken.  You may be asked to either change your clothing, serve detentions, Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday school will be assigned, and/or your parents will be contacted.

 

Girls Tennis

All girls tennis team members must check in their warm-ups after school on Tuesday, May 13.  Bring your warm-ups to the equipment room after school.

 

Juniors

Anyone interested in becoming a senior class officer for the class of 2009, needs to pick up a candidate packet in room 2113, or see Mr. Kunes.

 

Leo Club

The last Leo Club meeting will be on Tuesday, May 13, at 7:30 am, ONLY.

 

State Baseball

We will have state baseball tickets on sale in the Athletic Office!  Tickets for adults are $ 7; tickets for students are $ 5.

 

Library Closed

The library will be closed today, due to AP testing.

 

Attention Cheerleaders

Cheer practices for ALL SQUADS for the Shadow Lake Parade are Monday, May 12, and Monday, May 19, from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, in the South Gym.  Varsity ONLY will meet at 5:30 pm both nights.

 

Soccer Girls

Attention all soccer girls . . . there will be a camp meeting this Tuesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 15, in Coach Ingwerson’s room, right after school.  If you cannot attend, you must speak with Coach Ingwerson prior to Tuesday, May 13.  Also, don’t forget your check for $ 35 if you want to play outdoor soccer this summer.

 

2008 Titan Football

Anyone interested in playing football for the 2008 season, there will be a TEAM meeting on Thursday, May 15, immediately after school.

 

Art Club

This is a reminder to the Art Club members that we will have our final meeting on Monday, May 12, after school to celebrate a great year!

 

Yearbooks

Yearbooks can still be ordered in room B17!  They are now on sale for $ 65.  Don’t forget to pick up your autograph supplement if you ordered one.  A small number of extra supplements are still available for $ 3.

 

Play Production

If you are going to be a junior or a senior and are interested in being a part of the Play Production class for 2008-2009, please see Mr. Nienhueser for an audition packet.  No previous drama class or experience is required.

 

Attending State Tournaments

Students who are planning on attending any State Tournaments need to have a parent call the attendance office.  Students need to make sure they are in good standing in their classes and not have any attendance issues.

 

End Of Year Medications

Medications must be picked up from the health office before the last day of school.  This includes seniors.  If a student does not pick up his/her medication, it will be disposed of.  If you have any questions, please call the health office at 829-4625.  Thank you for your help.

 

ACT Last Opportunity

The last ACT of the year is Saturday, June 14.  The deadline to register for this exam is Friday, May 9.  Any junior who plans to attend college and has not yet taken the ACT is strongly encouraged to register for the June exam.  Do NOT wait until your senior year before taking your first ACT!  Register on-line at www.actstudent.org or pick up a registration packet in Career Ed.  See Ms. Mead if you have any questions.

 

ACT Prep Classes

Are you taking the June ACT?  Do you want to get a jump start in preparing for future ACTs?  Then sign up for PL South’s last session of ACT Prep Classes for this year.  The last session runs May 13 and May 14, from 6:00 pm until 8:45 pm each night.  The cost is $ 30 and includes an official ACT practice book.  Bring in your payment to Mrs. Morrow in Career Ed to get registered.

 

Career Ed Center News

Tier One Bank

Tier One Bank has openings for full and part-time tellers.  If you are 18 years old, they will train you.  They have an excellent tuition reimbursement program.  Check the Get A Job notebook in Career Ed for more information.
