New Fall TV Season Provides Entertainment For Students

by Lindsay Byers

Fall is an exciting time for many students, a time filled with Friday night football games, musical practices and most importantly, television.

In the fall, networks bring back series from previous years while mixing in a few new ones and cutting a few of the old

One returning show for this fall is ABC’s “Grey's Anatomy.”

"I watch ‘Grey's Anatomy’ every week on Thursdays," junior Ali Holton said. "It is in its fourth season and I watched the whole first, second and third before it started again."

There are many different reasons a student may enjoy a certain TV show.

"I like the actors and actresses (in ‘Grey's Anatomy’) and the plot is easy to follow," Holton said. "Also, Patrick Dempsey isn't bad to look at."

Another popular show that is back for this fall is FOX’s “House.”

“House is a really good show,” senior Jessica Graham said. “I love how all of the problems on the show are realistic and you can actually learn about the medical field while watching.”

Along with many returning dramas and comedies, there are also numerous new shows being introduced this fall. Some included are: ABC's “Pushing Daisies”, NBC's “Journeyman” and CBS' “The Big Bang Theory.”

"One show I started watching this year was (CBS') ‘My Boys’," Holton said. "I really like this show because it shows that just because you are a girl doesn't mean you can't be one of the guys."

Although students find many new series this year entertaining, it is impossible for every show to bring the same satisfaction.

"I don't really like (the CW's) ‘Gossip Girl’," Holton said. "I think the books are way better."

With so many shows to choose from, it will be easy for students to find something to watch on the tube each evening this fall.
