Pet Peeves Annoy Students

by Macayla Scarpello
2.5.08

A pet peeve is defined as a particular or continual annoyance, and everyone has one or maybe even a few. They come in different forms, and some people are very particular about addressing their annoyance when it occurs.

Junior Brittany Janssen dislikes others intruding on her business.

“I don’t like it when people tell me what I should do. One, I make my own decisions and two, it’s none of their business,” Janssen said.

Getting into other people’s business is a common pet peeve among many students.

“It bothers me when someone talks about you when they don’t even know the situation,” junior Paige Bonin said.

Punctual students are often bothered by those who aren’t.

“I can’t stand it when people are late or one of my pet peeves is when people quit because it shows that they don’t know how to follow through,” junior Ryan Bundy said.

Sophomore Aaron Diaz can’t stand it when people chew with their mouths open.

“It’s gross, especially when I’m trying to eat,” Diaz said.

Junior Fallon Fasanella’s pet peeve is simple, but it is the one thing she is bothered by the most.

“I hate it when people leave the cereal box open because then it makes the cereal stale,” Fasanella said.

With many storming the halls during the passing period, sometimes getting to class on time can be a problem.

“My biggest pet peeve is when people walk really slow and you can’t get around them, or when people show too much PDA,” junior Danielle Wilson said.

Coming in all shapes and sizes, pet peeves are common.
