TACT Team - Titans and Community Together
Howdy to all Titan parents and friends and welcome to the 2009-2010 school year.
As the president for the TACT team this year, I would like to introduce myself. My family moved to Papillion in 2001 after my husband received a permanent change of duty station with the Army. We love our neighbors, community, church and schools so much we decided to make Papillion home for a while. My husband, John, is serving his second "year long" unaccompanied tour (this time in Baghdad, Iraq) so that we could be so fortunate as to have both of our children graduate from Papillion-La Vista South High School.
TACT, Titans and Community Together, is a working partnership. It is the Parent/Teacher/Community network at Papillion-La Vista South High School. TACT is responsible for coordinating efforts amongst the various school sports and activities, and it provides our students and teachers volunteer and financial support throughout the year. TACT also:
- Provides school planners to our 1600 plus students
- Provides meals for our teachers during parent/teacher conferences
- Shows appreciation to the staff in the spring with a week of meals, snacks, and desserts
- Assists the athletic programs through contributions to the school weight room and providing graphics for the gymnasium
- Assists the school band by sponsoring numerous activities and planned trips
- Proudly provides scholarships to chosen applicants who are graduating seniors of TACT members
- Coordinates Post Prom so that our students have a safe and fun environment for after the Junior/Senior Prom
Since Papillion-La Vista South opened in 2003, TACT, along with PLSHS staff and student organizations, have been planning for a digital outdoor marquee sign to promote school activities. This past spring our sign was completed, and a sign dedication took place in May, 2009. We are grateful for the generosity of our TACT family for initiating our fundraiser efforts. We are still in need of $8,000. My hope is with a SIGN CAMPAIGN APPEAL we can pay off this balance. Any additional funds will go towards the planners and post prom. There won’t be any fancy fundraisers. This letter is the APPEAL to you to contribute to TACT. Even if you cannot contribute your time, you can still make a valuable contribution to the students and community of Papillion-La Vista South High School by financially supporting our impressive new outdoor sign. Your support will be noted throughout the year on all programs used during Papillion-La Vista South sporting events and activities. Your generous donations to TACT are greatly appreciated.
Please know that at the open house August 25, TACT will also have sign up sheets for those people who wish to join and volunteer in our activities, as well as a bucket for contributions to our new sign and other efforts.
